Mouton Cadet Rosé

HVE

HVE High Environmental Value certification is the result of a commitment that started with the 2012 Grenelle Environmental Forum. Guaranteeing the preservation of biodiversity and environment-friendly practices, it underlines our respect for nature in vinegrowing. All Mouton Cadet winegrowers proudly display the HVE 3 label, and they are supported by our winemakers at every stage, from advice to rigorous traceability. The demanding HVE scheme is now part of our DNA and a precondition for joining our community of committed winegrowers.

The people who make the wine

Pierre Blanc

Pierre Blanc

Flaujagues Mouton Cadet Rosé and Mouton Cadet White

Pierre Blanc tends a 16-hectare vineyard at Flaujagues, beside the Dordogne river in the Côtes de Castillon appellation, where nature and the art of winegrowing come together. The coolness that comes from the river and the morning mist that caresses the vines combine with a unique terroir to give the wines unrivalled freshness, ideal for Sauvignon Blanc. Merlot grapes that contribute to the blend for Mouton Cadet Rosé flourish on his more vigorous vines, more exposed to the sun. Pierre has been a Mouton Cadet partner since 2017. He isn’t only a winegrower, though, because he also has kiwi-fruit orchards and grows cereal crops in an expanding quest for biodiversity to keep ecosystems healthy.

Mouton Cadet Rosé x Mathilde

Mathilde

Rosé

Mouton Cadet is all about family, sharing and transmission between generations. Just like Mathilde Sereys de Rothschild: Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s great-granddaughter, she helped to create the label which brings the bottle to colourful life in a burst of sunshine, pine trees and pampas grass, reflecting the French Atlantic Coast lifestyle which inspired it. Mathilde also worked closely with Mouton Cadet’s winemakers on the blend of this distinctively modern, fresh and succulent, organic and vegan rosé.

Organic & Vegan

A wine can be certified vegan if a fining agent of non-animal origin (e.g. clay) is used during vinification to clarify the wine from all impurities and bacteria. Organic certification requires compliance with European rules that apply to all processes from vinegrowing to vinification.

Nose Pamplemousse rose

An initial burst of intense lemon quickly makes way for fresh red fruit aromas, especially raspberry and cherry.

A supple and fruit-forward attack on raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant flavours leads into a mid-palate with the succulence of freshly-picked fruit, followed by a fresh grapefruit and lychee finish.
