Tasting notes

Aspect: An intense garnet red with a slight crimson hue.

Nose: The nose opens on a mixture of black and red fruit, especially blackberry, bilberry and candied cherry, then with airing goes on to display delicate touches of spice and blackcurrant.

Palate: From a round and rich attack on fresh fruit flavours such as bilberry, blackcurrant and cherry, the mid-palate reveals powerful but beautifully chiselled tannins, leading into an attractively fresh finish on notes of mild spice, especially cinnamon and vanilla.

Pairing suggestions

Prime rib, lamb shoulder, duck magret with green paper sauce.
